Born in Sheffield, Yorkshire, in 1980 Pete Wild moved to Candelo NSW in 1987.

Pete Wild started playing ukulele aged 5 when he lived in Central Australia and was really into his BMX.

He learned keys on a piano rescued from the bucket of a bulldozer at a demolition site.

His love of music encompasses many different genres. His original songs are honest, personal, humorous, cheeky and touching, with universal themes.

Since the mid 90’s he has worked with a number of South Coast theatre groups, including In Theatre, Theatre Onset and Fling Physical Theatre, composing and performing soundtracks. His 2003 musical, The Legacy of Uncle Walter was a massive South Coast NSW hit, and the soundtrack album is still selling in local stores.

He is a sought-after musician and composer on the South Coast, and currently is playing with The Wild Martins, The Kameruka Bush Orchestra, and Heath Cullen & the 45, as well as his own solo shows.

Pete works at Candelo Bulk Wholefoods Co-op; a not-for-profit co-op selling unpackaged (bulk) whole foods and organic fresh fruit & vegetables.

The official launch of pete wild (Pete’s self-titled debut album) saw the Candelo Town Hall packed to the rafters on a 40 degree February night. Pete presented an epic and memorable show, involving 25 musicians and a dance troupe.

Recorded in the Bega Valley in six different studios with eighteen musicians over eight months, pete wild is a collection of songs that tell an array of stories in a myriad of styles. Fresh, contemporary small-town Australian indi-folk-pop incorporating bluegrass, rock, polka, broadway and epic-dirty-melancholic-folk ballads.

pete wild was ABC Radio National Breakfast album of the week in March/April 2009:

"It's honest, personal, humorous, cheeky [...] unashamedly celebrating being local in an Australian voice [...] something that made me feel good [...] it's a record that warms me quite a bit." Tim Ritchie - ABC Radio National Breakfast - Monday, March 30, 2009
